In order to start real estate investing it is absolutely crucial for us to define why we want to invest and what we want to achieve – this will guide everything else. As an example you can read why I chose residential real estate investing in order to supplement my wealth building. A begginers real estate investing journey starts with a purpose and is then materialized with goals and a plan. You may have already decided your goals or need help defining them. Either way the very first place to start in real estate is with education in real estate investing. For me all it took was my first real estate investing course to let me see that this was something I could do and wanted to do. Beginning real estate investing for me has been very gradual. The first thing I realized was that I did not know what I was doing so by joining one of the many available real estate investing clubs I gained great amounts of knowledge that is still on-going. In turn the confidence built by this has allowed me to create a real estate investing business where I currently own four properties. I have learned to buy correctly (and what that means) fix-up and either sell or lease my properties. Real estate investing with foreclosures has formed a big part of my strategy and you can see the details of that in the linked pages along with pictures, real estate investing spreadsheets, costs and profits. Wether you are not sure if real estate investing is for you or you want to get started, I hope this real estate investing guide and the forthcoming real estate investing faq (frequently asked questions) will help you out. In the following pages I will share the steps I have taken to embark in residential real estate investing. My aim is to prove to you, not just tell you, why I think this is a good investment. At the same time I want you to see that if I can do it then so can you while sharing with you lessons learned from my experience.
